HTML BYTES

As a courtesy to you as a NEW Helpdesk/Email/Sales Letter sender, I'd like to suggest some tips that will help you garner higher quality responses to your message(s).

First, HTML posts in text based PC help groups or emails are not really appropriate. Your posts/letters should be done in plain text. Many people still use 10+ year old PCs with older MS OS's and/or older versions of Unix/Linux.

Why does HTML Byte? Several reasons follow:

A 5 line post in text may be 200 bytes, in HTML the same post may be 8000 bytes. Some people wont wait for the much larger HTML messages to download if on a slow connection.

Vision impaired folks often have ware or options set to enlarge plain text so they can read it. Those type of programs work best when dealing with simple text.

Many of the best techs who participate in comupter help and support groups use apps. that are set to filter out HTML posts so they wont even see/read your message.

People all over the world pay by the minute to either their local phone company or have to dial long distance to log on. So, since HTML posts are larger [8000 bytes vs. 200 bytes] their phone bill may be 40 times as great if everybody posted in HTML so we like to keep simple text as the standard.
